The Issue
People who receive home-based medical care have complex needs and require top-notch medical care. Today, the quality of home-based medical care is not consistently measured and therefore not known.
In a 2013 national survey of home-based primary care practices, only one-third had a defined quality improvement process.
Fortunately, 90% said that they would participate in quality improvement if the quality measures reflected the needs of their patients.
